Day to Day task include:
- Serve as system administrator of the Library's Digital Asset Management System
- Configure system settings, including user roles, permissions, metadata schemas, and content organization
- Troubleshoot technical issues or escalate to the appropriate technology team or vendor
- Initiate change control processes and notify stakeholders of upcoming changes
- Provide training to users as needed
- Prepare work plans for system installations and upgrades
- Coordinate with IT, stakeholders, and the vendor to ensure thorough system testing using scripts and regression testing
- Act as the technical support contact for emergency issues affecting system functionality
- Ensure the software is consistently functioning in the production environment
- Maintain documentation of system configurations, workflows, and user guides
- Serve as the site administrator for the front-end user experience
- Coordinate the implementation and migration of digital assets to the new DAMS
- Schedule project meetings with stakeholders and the vendor
- Document project progress and provide status updates
- Assist with data migration, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Establish criteria for user acceptance of the new system
- Collaborate with the vendor, internal teams, and stakeholders to implement asset ingestion, organization, and retrieval processes
- Maintain a running list of system issues and enhancement requests
- Conduct system testing throughout the project lifecycle
Requested Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 36 months of experience working with content management or digital asset management systems (Recollect, CONTENTdm, Islandora, PastPerfect, etc). Experience must include administration, implemention, maintenance, and familiarity with metadata standards and digital asset lifecycle management.
- 36 months experience as a system administrator. Experience must include: system configuration, creation of user roles and permissions, metadata schemas and fields, content organization, and abitly to serve as technical support contact when issues arise.
- 24 months experience coordinating complex data migration projects. Experience must include collaborating between IT, stakeholders, and vendors, documentation of project details, and establishing criteria for user acceptance.
- 24 months experience as a site administrator for front end user experience. Such as editing the header and footer, as well as the homepage through the customization of widgets.
- 12 months of experience with support and maintenance, including training, documentation, and troubleshooting. Experience must include documentation of system configurations, workflows, and user guides.
- 12 months experience conducting functional and regression testing and data migration validation to ensure accuracy and completeness of asset transfers.
- 6 months experience working in an Archive, Public Library, or comparable institution.
Work hours and location:
- Full time role with engagement length of 18 months
- Daily work hours: 8am-5pm (8 hours a day, excluding lunch)
- Physical office location: Queens Public Library - Central Library 89-11 Merrick Blvd Jamaica, NY 11432
- Telecommuting options: 50%
