Spry is seeking a Deputy Program Manager to join our team supporting a government contract in Washington, DC. In this role, you will support and assist the Program Manager in overseeing the overall planning, direction, and success of major programs, systems development efforts, and research or technology initiatives that are crucial to the activity’s and agency’s needs. You will help manage large, multi-year programs divided into several sub-programs or tasks, assist in defining the program's scope, objectives, and deliverables, and help organize the program structure. Key responsibilities include supporting the development of short-term and long-term plans, assisting in formulating and guiding the technical approach, negotiating with personnel to secure necessary resources, and helping establish and control technical milestones, schedules, budgets, and costs. We value logical thinking, analytical skills, and leadership to support both our customer and team effectively.

- Program Structuring: Organize the program into sub-programs or tasks, ensuring clear roles and responsibilities.
- Immediate Goals and Strategies: Formulate short-term goals and strategies to achieve program milestones.
- Long-Term Planning: Develop long-range plans to sustain and expand the program over multiple years.
- Technical Approach Creation: Create and guide the technical approach for the program.
- Technical Direction: Direct the technical aspects to ensure alignment with program goals.
- Resource Identification: Identify the necessary resources (personnel, equipment, budget) required for the program.
- Resource Negotiation: Negotiate with activity and agency personnel to secure the required resources.
- Milestone Setting and Control: Establish and control technical milestones to track progress.
- Schedule Management: Develop and manage schedules to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Budget and Cost Monitoring: Establish and monitor budgets and costs to keep the program within financial constraints.
- Continuous Guidance and Direction: Provide ongoing guidance and direction to ensure the program meets its objectives and delivers value to the agency.
- Bachelor's degree in business or financial related field
- 10 years of professional experience
- Demonstrated experience overseeing contractor performance
- Demonstrated Supervisory experience
- Demonstrated experience in Navy Project Management
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Master's degree in business or financial related field
- PMP Certification
