Role Summary
The Software Test Engineer will be responsible for developing test methods and conducting testing on both console and cloud-based software products. They will collaborate closely with the software team to design verification methodologies and work alongside the quality team to execute test protocols and document results throughout the software development process.
Essential Responsibilities
- Develop, write, and execute manual and automated software verification protocols based on product requirements and user needs
- Develop, write, and execute cybersecurity verification protocols
- Collaborate with software developers to test in-development features and conduct ad-hoc testing (e.g., merge requests)
- Coordinate with Software, QA, and other departments to ensure products meet requirements
- Work closely with R&D teams to support data gathering, documentation, and issue triaging
- Identify, document, and track defects using issue tracking tools
- Ensure verification completeness and compliance with industry standards and the company’s quality system
- Develop and maintain software quality documentation
- Perform other duties as assigned
Must have Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in software testing for medical devices
- Knowledge of various testing techniques (e.g. performance, unit, integration, and automation)
- Batchelor’s degree in Computer science, Engineering, or other technical field, or equivalent experience
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with medical imaging software applications
- Experience with software cybersecurity
- Experience with full-stack testing for modern web applications and microservices
- Experience with basic software testing automation and scripting (e.g., JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python)
- Knowledge of ISO and similar standards (e.g. ISO 62304, and ISO 13485)
- Knowledge of software regulatory standards
