Primary Responsibilities:
• Answer retail phones and provide service to our customers.
• Develop and maintain in-depth understanding of the steel products and services offered; leverages this
knowledge to offer valuable solutions to customers
• Greet customers walking into the retail store
• Write orders for walk-in customers accurately (e.g. specifications, processing requirements, delivery, etc.)
Attention to detail is paramount.
• Assist in fulfilment of will-call orders by completing paperwork, notifying warehouse, and directing the customer
to the proper pick-up location
• Take payment from customers, review the total in-stock and on order position to determine material availability
and maintaining & ordering store stock.
• Accurately fulfill expectations for quality, delivery, paperwork, communication, etc.
• Price inquiries in a manner which maximizes revenues, with consideration to minimizing operational costs
• Engage management on significant inquiries to help maximize the probability of success
• Cooperate with teammates both within and outside the Sales Dept.
• Assist other associates when needed
Physical & Work Requirements:
• Ensure professional appearance.
• Requires ability to perform primary job responsibilities while spending long periods of time at a computer
• Standing to greet and assist people coming into the store.
• May require travel to the office in extreme weather conditions
• Maintain clean and organized showroom floor. Promote safe material handling.
• Lift up to 50 pounds to stock shelving.
