What are the responsibilities and job description for the Trailer Maintenance Technician - 1st Shift - Competitive Wage DOE position at SPS Companies, Inc.?
Primary Responsibilities:
• Repair, service and inspect flatbed trailers.
• Parts and supplies will be purchased utilizing information pertinent and specific to the item to ensure accurate
delivery of the required items. Service Center Manager must approve and get approval for purchases over
company set limits.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and organized maintenance shop.
• Comply with Steel and Pipe Supply policies and OSHA guidelines effecting machine operations, such as but not
limited to: Lock Out ~ Tag Out, Material Safety Data Sheets and Hazardous Materials usage.
Physical & Work Requirements:
• May be required to travel to other facilities. 24 hour on-call via cell phone.
• Operation of company owned or leased equipment or vehicles.
• Required overtime.
• Warehouse environment, uncontrolled climate year-round.
• Dusty and noisy work environment within OSHA guidelines.
• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
• Exposed to chemicals used within the work area.
Required Background, Competencies & Expertise:
• Trailer maintenance & repair experience
• Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings.
• Understanding of electronics.
• Ability to document detailed repair - work orders and possess good communication skills.
• Basic office computer software and the ability to learn how to effectively operate maintenance software to
input data and research parts.

• Three years minimum experience.
