Position OverviewAs a Fire Tech II with the City of New York, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of fire protection systems and equipment throughout NYC's municipal buildings and facilities. This role requires technical expertise and the ability to work independently on complex fire alarm systems.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform installation, maintenance, and repairs on various fire protection systems, including fire alarm systemsConduct regular testing and inspections of fire protection systems to ensure compliance with FDNY regulations, NYC Building Code, and NFPA standardsDiagnose and troubleshoot complex system malfunctions using diagnostic tools and technical documentationDocument all maintenance activities, repairs, and system tests in accordance with department protocolsMaintain accurate records of inventory, parts usage, and equipment maintenance schedules Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentMinimum 4 years of experience in fire alarm systems maintenance and repairNYC Fire Department Certificate of Fitness for Fire Alarm Systems (S-98) Certificate of Fitness for Fire Alarm Systems Inspection, Testing and Service Technician (S-98) | City of New YorkOSHA 30 (Siemens will pay for the training if they don’t have it)Strong knowledge of NFPA standards and NYC Fire CodeValid driver's license with clean driving recordAbility to lift 50 pounds and work in various weather conditions
