In this dynamic direct-hire role, you will create detailed budgets, oversee supplier contracts, evaluate production costs, and verify invoice statements across multiple construction entities. The ideal candidate will combine excellent business acumen with efficient accounting practices to minimize production costs and support the company's continued success.
Primary Responsibilities
- Accounting Procedures:
- Refine current processes and implement new accounting procedures to improve financial efficiency.
- Financial Management:
- Manage inventory systems using QuickBooks and Builder Trend.
- Collaborate with project managers to develop cost-effective budgets for concrete foundation and framing jobs.
- Perform end-to-end accounting duties throughout the project lifecycle, including cash flow estimation and purchase order approvals.
- Analyze transactions and adjust budgets to incorporate unforeseen costs.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain detailed financial records for auditing and tax purposes.
- Prepare cost analyses by interpreting complex financial data.
- Report financial risks and budget discrepancies to management.
- Market & Vendor Relations:
- Research market trends and monitor construction-related price changes.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Reconcile monthly inventories and collaborate with external CPAs for month-end closings and financial statement preparation.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on industry trends in construction and accounting to ensure best practices are followed.
- Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in private or public accounting with a strong emphasis on construction cost accounting
- Proven working knowledge of QuickBooks and Builder Trend
- Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Preferred:
