Job Title : Value Stream Specialist (Continuous and Process Improvement)
Reports To : The Value Stream Specialist will report to the Process and Improvement Engineer, Vice President of DIP, or equivalent leadership.
Job Overview :
The Value Stream Specialist position is dedicated and highly skilled with a focus on continuous process improvement. This position plays a crucial role in driving operational excellence both within our company and for our clients. This position is responsible for streamlining processes, improving efficiencies, and ensuring smooth transitions across various functions. This role will require a blend of technical expertise, tactical leadership, and a commitment to delivering value through consistent, measurable process improvements.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Conduct value stream workshops with internal and external customers to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes and reduce waste.
- Apply methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, and Kaizen to drive process improvement.
- Oversee value streams for all product families to ensure process owners are performing their responsibilities.
- Ensure that all value stream documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant teams.
- Provide support and guidance to internal teams as needed.
- Liaise between our business, operations, product, and engineering teams to ensure requirements are understood, properly prioritized, and assessed to implementation.
- Foster cross-functional team alignment to ensure value streams are working efficiently across all processes.
- Partner closely with other teams to jointly ensure successful operational execution across these supporting functions.
- Determine metrics and KPIs for success evaluation.
- Assess and identify impacts to change prior to commitment.
- Document and present the results of process improvement efforts and ensure proper controls are implemented to sustain desired levels of performance.
- Provide regular updates to the leadership team on project progress and process results.
- Contribute to the continuing development of SPS's process improvement standards, tools and approaches to ensure a practical application of best practice.
- Provide guidance to collaborating teams on building any tools or process enhancements.
- Continuously work with internal users and clients to obtain feedback on improvements.
- Define product families by conducting product routing analysis and appropriate groupings.
- Conduct fact-based analysis of the current state map(s).
- Create plans and ensure implementation of improvements for future state maps.
- Lead and mobilize people inside and outside of the value stream to enable required changes.
- Lead day-to-day activities within the value stream to ensure that current commitments are achieved while improvements are being made.

Travel : Some business travel is required for this position utilizing a variety of methods such as by car, train, plane, etc. The approximate amount of travel is up to 25%.

95,000—$125,000 USD
