Driver supervisor

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead a group of drivers, providing training and coaching.
• Enforce safety regulations and ensure all drivers adhere to safety protocols.
• Compliance with all regulations.
• Equipment maintenance, ensure all required pre and post trip inspections are being performed.
• Oversee the proper recording of all daily records, HOS, DVIR, proof of deliveries, and fuel receipts.

Physical & Work Requirements

• 50% office, 50% hands-on at location.
• Physically able to spend time out in the yard assisting drivers.
• Travel (0% - 10%)
• Overtime is required.

• Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role in the transportation industry.
• Proven communication skills
• Knowledge of safe operation of tractor / trailer.
• Knowledge of securing cargo using straps, chains, and other securing devices to prevent load shifting during transit.
• Ability to motivate a team.
• Coaching and developing a team.
• Accountability
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Understanding of each state's load size and weight requirements.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good computer skills.
• Good problem-solving skills.

Preferred Background, Competencies & Expertise

• Bachelor's degree in logistics or related field.
• Previous experience in flatbed industry.
• Knowledge of steel / metals industry.
