What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mobile Phlebotomist position at SPS?
Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture and collect blood samples from patients in their homes, clinics, facilities, etc.
- Follow proper aseptic technique and ensure patient safety during the phlebotomy procedure
- Label and process specimens for laboratory testing
- Maintain accurate records of patient information and test results
- Provide excellent patient care and ensure a positive experience for all individuals
- Adhere to all laboratory procedures and protocols
- Handle and dispose of biohazardous materials in accordance with safety regulations
Experience:
- Previous experience as a mobile phlebotomist or in a clinical laboratory setting is preferred
- Proficient in laboratory techniques and procedures related to specimen collection and processing
- Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to accurately communicate with healthcare professionals
- Familiarity with various types of blood sampling equipment and their proper usage
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with patients and healthcare professionals
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a mobile setting
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and travel to different locations as needed
