What are the responsibilities and job description for the Non Game Wildlife Technician position at SPSCANDIDATEPORTAL?
SpecPro Professional Services (SPS) is seeking an individual experienced in technical support to assist in development of management plans, collection of field data, and data analysis associated with non-game species management in accordance with the Integrated Natural Resource Management Plan, DoD and Army policy and guidance, and state regulations.
Responsibilities include:
Implement non-game species surveys
Input survey data into GIS and database
Assist with amphibian surveys
Assist with monarch butterfly surveys
Assist with fall and spring quail counts
Assist with white tail deer spotlight surveys
Assist with wood duck box installation and nest checks
Assist with electroshocking and stream surveys
Invasive species management
Assist with vegetation surveys for open fields management
Assist in prescribed burning
UTV and ATV operation
Education/experience
Bachelor’s Degree in closely related field preferred
Knowledge of Department of Defense environmental programs, Army policy and guidance, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)
Familiar with Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) and ESRI software
Verbal and written communication skills
Requirements and work conditions
Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to pass background check
Valid Driver’s license
Frequent field work conditions in typical Tennessee/Kentucky environmental conditions
