Job Summary:
Spudnik Equipment Company is seeking a skilled and motivated Control Systems Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing control systems for our agricultural equipment. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the effective integration of software and hardware components, meeting both performance and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Software Development: Design and develop software for embedded systems used in agricultural equipment, focusing on performance, reliability, and safety.
- Control System Design: Create and optimize control systems for various agricultural machinery, ensuring efficient and precise operation.
- User Interface Design: Develop user interfaces (both hardware and software) that are intuitive and meet the needs of operators.
- Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with relevant legal and safety standards.
- Custom Solutions: Provide custom quotes and solutions for specific customer requirements.
- Engineering Support: Offer technical support to manufacturing, assembly, and service teams.
- Integration: Collaborate with other engineering teams (Hydraulic, Electrical, etc.) for seamless integration of control systems.
- Project Management: Adhere to project timelines, provide timely feedback, and manage project deliverables effectively.
- Design Reviews: Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement processes.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in control systems engineering, preferably in the agricultural or offroad equipment industry.
Skills:
- Proficiency in C programming language, Codesys, Match, Python, and Github.
- Familiarity with ISOBUS 11783 Standards.
- Strong understanding of embedded systems and control theory.
- Experience with HMI design and development.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred, Additional Qualifications:
- Experience with mobile offroad equipment.
- Knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements for mobile and/or offroad equipment.
Working Conditions:
- Office and field environment; may require travel to client sites.
- Ability to spend time out in the field with implements being developed.
