ORDER FULFILLMENT SPECIALIST
JOB SUMMARY:
The Order Fulfillment Specialist is responsible for processing and following up on incoming Orders and Requisitions. The processing of these Orders and Requisitions includes reviewing the requested quantities of items, evaluating what is in inventory, and passing the required information needed to process the Order or Requisition on to other Departments as needed. The Specialist will also assist the Parts Shipping personnel at times to prepare and ship out parts that are needed urgently. Teamwork and customer service skills are vitally important as the Specialist works with personnel from other local departments including Parts Shipping, Production Control, Stockroom, and Purchasing. These skills will also be critical when working with Team members from Sales and Service Centers. The Specialist will consistently demonstrate a high level of responsibility, integrity, attention to detail, and accountability while working in the most effective and efficient manner possible.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process incoming Transfer Orders. This will include separating Transfer Orders into items that need to be shipped because they are in stock, items that need to be manufactured, and items that need to be purchased from vendors in order to meet minimum order quantities.
- Process incoming Customer Orders that need to Drop Ship from the Warehouse directly to the customer.
- Process incoming Customer Orders that need to be delivered to local customers.
- Process incoming Requisitions for Sales and Service Centers outside the United States.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of parts used in potato handling and harvesting equipment.
- Identify customer need date and material availability throughout the company.
- Perform inventory and sales transactions using appropriate invoicing methods.
- Move materials both physically and electronically in and out of the warehouse and perform cycle counting activities to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Investigate to find the root cause of errors in material accuracy and remedy.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work in a team environment with little or no supervision.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment.
- Fill in during team member absences.
EQUIPMENT TYPICALLY USED
- Basic clerical machines including computer, printer, adding machine, multiline telephone system, fax machine, postal machine, etc.
- Other machines or equipment specific to departmental or facility needs.
TYPICAL ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Worker is subject to inside environmental conditions. May have temperature changes due to working inside a shop. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level. Includes a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places. One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin: Fumes, odors, dust mists, gases or poor ventilation. There is air and or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
