Job Description - Non-Exempt Position
Material Handler
2:30pm-11:00pm
Monday-Friday
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for moving product within the facility to its’ designated and required position and works within the Logistics Department. The duties outlined in this Job Description are expected to be completed in a professional, safe and quality minded manner, and per all Company Policies. Procedures and additional expectations as outlined by position Supervisor.
Major Job Responsibilities:
- Perform job duties in compliance with site safety rules and notify appropriate management of any safety hazards, with the intent of supporting an injury-free work environment.
- Participate in the company’s quality and safety initiatives
- Abide by job related procedures, work instructions and other guidelines designed to help ensure the quality of the finished product.
- Transfer materials between trucks, warehouses, and throughout the production floor as necessitated for the smooth flow of production
- Accept shipments upon arrival at building
- Provide support as needed to logistics and production staff, mainly in the area of materials transfer, using forklifts, bale clamps, pallet jacks, and other necessary equipment
- Examine records such as purchase orders, packing slips, waybills, logs, etc., to ensure completeness of all outgoing shipments and accuracy of records
- Maintain general order and organization of area

Environmental Consideration / Adherence
- Responsible to notify management of any leaks on forklifts
- Responsible to properly identify recyclables and move to proper locations
- Responsible to use all equipment (lifts, charging stations, etc.) only in the manner designated during training

Job Specific Requirements:
Physicality:
- Able to consistently lift items 5 – 35 lbs.
- Occasionally lift items 50 – 100 lbs.
- Stand for 8 – 12 hours per shift
- Reach above head 2 hours per shift
Expected Work Schedule / Shift:
- Shift – A B C or D
- Night / Day
- Must report to shift and clock in 15 minutes prior to shift start
- Must report to pre-shift meeting 10 minutes prior to shift start
- Required Overtime based on business / staffing requirements
- Expectation of occasional voluntary or mandatory non-scheduled shift coverage
Education / Skills:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent GED
- 2-5 years of experience working in manufacturing logistics preferred
- Basic Computer Skills (Microsoft Office experience, word, excel, etc.)
- Previous certification in forklift driving, bale clamp operation, and pallet jack preferred
- Communication Skills
- Ability to work with others and in team environment, or as an individual
