Spur Staffing is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substitute Special Education Aides to join our team to work in Huntsville City Schools. As a Substitute Special Education Aide, you will play a crucial role in providing support and assistance to students with special needs, helping them access their education and achieve their individual goals. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students and contribute to an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
Responsibilities :
- Assist special education teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapting instructional materials to meet the diverse needs of students with special needs.
- Provide one-on-one or small-group support to students during classroom activities, ensuring their understanding and engagement.
- Assist students with daily tasks, such as personal hygiene, mobility, and communication, as required.
- Support students in developing and strengthening their academic, social, and emotional skills through guided practice and reinforcement.
- Implement behavior management strategies and support students in following classroom rules and routines.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to facilitate the integration of students with special needs into the general education environment.
- Assist with the preparation and modification of instructional materials, including visual aids, worksheets, and assistive technology tools.
- Monitor student progress and collect data on their performance, behavior, and achievements as directed by the teacher.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting acceptance, understanding, and respect among all students.
- Provide assistance during transitions between activities and locations, ensuring student safety and well-being.
- Maintain confidentiality of student information and comply with all applicable laws and regulations regarding student privacy.
