What are the responsibilities and job description for the Billing Representative position at Spurwink?
Spurwink Services is seeking a full-time Billing Representative for our large mental health agency. The ideal candidate will have two or more years experience with Medicare, MaineCare, and other third-party payers. The ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively is a must, as are excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Candidate must possess a willingness to work in a team-oriented environment.
This is a Monday through Friday position.
DUTIES :
- Prepare, process, and submit billings for the entire Agency and perform all core functions.
- Assist with follow-up on accounts past due or denied for payment.
- MaineCare Authorization Import.
- Assistance with research and resolution of credit balances.
- Assist in A / R-related matters for the year-end audit, internal QA audits or audits by third-party funding agencies.
QUALIFICATIONS :
High school diploma or equivalent and two or more years experience in Clinical / Medical billing and collections required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Necessary : Ideal candidate will have two or more years experience with Medicare, Maine Care, and other third-party payers. The ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively is a must, as are excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Candidate must possess a willingness to work in a team-oriented environment. Experience with personal computer spreadsheets and database packages, including Excel, Microsoft Word is required, and Accounts Receivable financial software.
