The Cost Accountant is responsible for managing and analyzing financial data related to the US manufacturing environment and internationally produced goods. This role will assist management with improving cost accuracy, production efficiency, and financial reporting.
Schedule: Monday -Friday 7:00am-4:00pm
Fully in office with a possibility of working 1-2 days remote after a few months
Compensation: $70,000-$90,000.00 Annually
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related field
- CPA, CMA, or other relevant certification preferred
- Highschool Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2-5 years experience in a cost accounting or related role, in a manufacturing environment is a plus
The right Candidate will have
- A strong understanding of cost accounting principles, financial analysis and reporting
- Profiecient in ERP systems and accounting software’s
- NetSuite experience is a PLUS
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis tools
- Great attitude, transparency, and willing to learn
Key Responsibilities
1. Cost Analysis and Reporting:
- Collect, analyze, and interpret financial data to assess production costs, overhead, and other expenses.
- Prepare cost reports and summaries for management, highlighting trends, issues, and opportunities.
2. Inventory and Cost Control:
- Oversee inventory costing processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Perform periodic inventory reconciliations, physical counts, and cost testing.
3. Process Improvement:
- Help develop internal controls and document related SOPs
- Identify inefficiencies in production or operational processes and recommend cost-saving measures.
- Support implementation of cost reduction strategies across departments.
4. Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, standards, and regulations
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date cost accounting records and documentation.
5. Collaboration:
- Work closely with production manager, the controller, and NetSuite Admin.
- Provide documentation upon request with the utmost level of transparency
- Assist in providing financial support for strategic decision-making.
