This position, within the Spyderco Manufacturing facility, is chiefly responsible for aiding in the efficient processing of product on the production floor through production planning and scheduling. Working directly under the supervision of the Factory Manager, this individual will monitor and assess the production dynamics to make proper decisions for workflow and production needs. This is done through Material Requirement Planning (MRP) and Master Production Scheduling (MPS), working in tandem with purchasing and sales to ensure proper product flow, and through the means of our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
Schedule: Monday -Friday 7:00am-4:00pm
Compensation: $30-$40/hr. (Experience, skills, and knowledge will be taken into consideration and adjusted accordingly)

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Using historical data, evaluate new products and provide detailed costing for review to both Sales and the Production Team.
- Through use of the ERP system, collaborate with Engineering to build new product Engineering Masters and routers for eventual roll out into the factory.
- Review the MRP daily and create needed work orders for products that are based upon safety and preferred stock data.
- Work in tandem with Purchasing to manage the factory supply chain, ensuring purchased components are ordered and received in a timely manner.
- Provide daily/weekly feedback through relevant department meetings regarding supply, demand, quality, and cost.
- Maintain and provide rough cut capacity data to the Production Team on a routine basis.
- Build KPI and analytic reports reviewing production throughput and efficiency that is provided to Factory Management in given intervals of time.
- Assist the Production team with file and model standardization to ensure a proper efficient and effective process flow.
- Supervise and adjust manufacturing resources, through the production schedule, to ensure all workloads are completed accurately, efficiently, and within projected costs.
- Evaluate existing processes and aid identifying opportunities for improvement through scheduling routes & product processing.
- Able to perform root cause analysis and long-form labor studies in order to affect production effectiveness.
- Maintain Process Control and Strictly adhere to all job instructions and details.
- Aid in the development of the Production Team and Factory processes that empower continued growth and strive for success.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, or similar field, is required. Related job experience will be considered.
- 3 years of experience with ERP and MRP is required.
- Oracle Netsuite and/or Visual CRM experience is strongly preferred. Other ERP experience will be considered.
- 2 years of experience in Production Scheduling or Supply Chain Management is required. Advanced knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office is required.
- Smartsheet or other PM software experience is preferred.
- Able to read and understand manufacturing documents and understand manufacturing processes is preferred.
- Knife knowledge is preferred.
- Prioritize the health and safety of all staff above all other assignments
- Responsible for adhering to company safety program requirements, including but not limited to, general safety standards and participating in monthly safety trainings.
- Follows all federal and state safety rules, regulations, and standards.
- Maintains cleanliness and organizational standards and completes any cleaning or organization assignments.
- Effectively communicate with all levels of seniority within the organization, including company ownership, management, supervisors, and operators.
- Ability to present high level technical details and operational plans to both internal and external individuals.

- Must be able to lift 55lbs.
- Must be able to push, pull, lift, and reach frequently.
- Must be able to be on feet for up to 2 hours at a time.
