We’re hiring for a Quality Electromechanical Inspector position in Wendell, NC on 1 year contract. The schedule is on first shift, Monday - Friday, and a 40-hour work week. \n- Incoming inspection of products/services from external providers (e.g., nickel plating).
- In-process and final inspection of critical features, including witness inspection.
- Compilation of final inspection sign-off sheets and report packages.
- Verifying inspection equipment's ability to detect defects and ensuring methodology aligns with drawing intent.
- Auditing and validating the execution of the inspection plan.
- Providing weekly reports on manufacturing site progress, equipment quality, and delivery details.
- Conducting periodic supplier factory audits and reporting findings.
- Driving closure of non-conformance findings and ensuring documentation in the supplier’s quality control system.
- Serving as customer witness for test scripts, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and validating equipment compliance with the Level 1 commissioning process before shipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
- 2 years of experience in quality inspection, focusing on electro-mechanical and machined parts.
- Proficient with inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and defect identification skills.
- Knowledge of quality management systems (QMS) and industry standards (e.g., ISO).
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently and perform physical inspections.
- Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 3 years of experience in electro-mechanical product inspection.
- Familiarity with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and commissioning processes.
- Experience with supplier audits and corrective actions.
- Certification in Quality Assurance (e.g., CQE, CQA) preferred.
- Lean manufacturing knowledge and experience in continuous improvement.
