\n- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of mechanical and electromechanical components to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
- Conduct witness inspections, including running CMM programs and verifying critical dimensions and features.
- Compile inspection reports and final sign-off sheets, ensuring traceability of all records and documentation.
- Verify that inspection equipment and methodologies are capable of detecting defects and align with design intent.
- Review and validate justifications for any parts not inspected at final inspection.
- Audit and ensure compliance with the inspection plan, as applicable.
- Ensure products meet cosmetic, workmanship, and structural quality standards, checking for gaps, mismatches, fairing, contour, waviness, oil canning, scratches, and burrs.
- Verify proper application of finishes, paint, and coatings according to visual standards.
- Ensure hardware cleanliness and absence of foreign object debris (FOD).
- Experience in mechanical/composites inspection, preferably in aerospace, automotive, or manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications.
- Experience with CMM operation and programming is a plus but not required
- Familiarity with inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, and dial indicators.
- Knowledge of FAI processes (AS9102) and quality management systems such as ISO 9001 and AS9100.
- Strong understanding of torque specifications, fastener installation, safety wire application, and workmanship standards.
- Ability to identify non-conforming characteristics and work with engineering and suppliers to resolve issues.
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills, ensuring complete and accurate inspection records.
- Ability to work independently and in collaboration with quality engineers, suppliers, and production teams.
- Must be able to meet ITAR requirements
