Qualifications:
1.Experience: Minimum of 12 months of relevant experience within the last three years in a similar setting. Internships do not count toward this requirement.
2.Licensure: All psychologists must hold the necessary licenses, permits, or certifications.
3.Communication Skills: Proficiency in English for accurate and effective communication is required.
Responsibilities:
Psychologists will provide mental health services under the supervision of the Senior Psychologist or Chief of Mental Health. Key duties include:
Mental Health Evaluations: Conducting initial assessments, including criminal, psychological, and substance abuse histories.
Suicide Risk Assessment: Using protocols to assess and document suicide risk, performing clinical reviews, and consulting as necessary.
Therapeutic Interventions: Providing crisis intervention, individual and group psychotherapy, and face-to-face interviews with inmates, including at cell fronts if necessary.
Diagnosis and Treatment Planning: Identifying psychiatric symptoms, applying psychological assessments, creating treatment plans, and documenting care.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Working with treatment teams, consulting on complex cases, and collaborating with other Correctional Facility healthcare personnel.
Documentation and Reporting: Using structured formats (e.g., SOAPE notes) to record inmate progress, generating reports, and consulting with relevant staff and outside community programs.
Support and Rehabilitation: Assisting inmates in applying for benefits, developing community ties, and supporting rehabilitative and educational programming.
Supervision and Order Maintenance: Monitoring inmate behavior to maintain order, prevent escape, and ensure the safety of others.
Ethical and Legal Compliance:
Psychologists must adhere to California laws and Facility policies regarding confidentiality, mandated reporting (e.g., child and elder abuse, self-harm risks), and the release of patient records.
This role involves significant interaction with a vulnerable population, requiring strong clinical skills, empathy, and adherence to ethical and regulatory standards.

Pay: $155.00 - $158.00 per hour
