We are seeking a responsible, friendly, and self-motivated person to join our team as assistant manager. This is a dynamic position where roles and responsibilities are apt to change on the fly. The right candidate is able to think on their feet, learn quickly, establish and maintain strong relationships with staff and guests, and demonstrate initiative to step in wherever needed to get the job done.
This position is a meld between management of the inn and restaurant. Must be available to work day shifts, evenings, and weekends as needed. Position begins mid-June.
Compensation commensurate with experience.
Core Work Activities
- Assisting in Management of Restaurant and Inn
- Handles employee questions and concerns.
- Monitors employees to ensure performance expectations are met.
- Provides constructive feedback to front of house staff
- Checking-in/Checking-out hotel guests
Conducting Day-to-Day Operations
- Ensures all employees have proper supplies, equipment and uniforms.
- Communicates any issues regarding food quality and service levels.
- Monitors alcohol beverage service in compliance with local laws and company policy.
- Answers phones and checks voicemails when needed.
- Takes inn and restaurant reservations.
- Checks and responds to guest Whistle messages.
- Be fluent in POS, reservation, and Inn booking systems.
- Checkin guests arriving at the inn and providing assistance with their stay.
- Collaborate with owners on fresh ideas, new product, fun services, etc.
Providing Exceptional Guest Service for the Inn and Restaurant
- Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
- Supervises staffing levels to ensure that guest service and operational needs are met.
- Handles guest problems and complaints, seeking assistance as necessary.
- Strives to improve service performance.
- Sets a positive example for guest relations.
- Assists in the review of guest satisfaction results with employees.
- Meets and greets guests.
Conducting Human Resource Activities
- Supervises on-going training for new hires.
- Uses all available on the job training tools for employees.
- Communicates performance expectations to employees.
