Duties and Responsibilities
Develop overall OSP system design for new developments and over-builds for fiber facilities.
Prepare cost estimates and material requirements for projects, manages project financials, and perform financial true-up of projects at the close.
Prepare and maintains detailed assignment documents of fiber projects and communicate these with Facility Engineers.
Use CAD design software to produce fiber designs and bill of materials.
Work with network engineers to incorporate network elements.
Provide current new development land base and notify mapping technicians when all changes are complete. Perform aerial plant engineering, including make-ready and pole loading analysis.
Prepare permits related to ROW, Railroad, and DOTs.
Perform QC of construction prints and splicing sheets submitted by outside contractors and other sources.
Provide input on best practices, permit processes, field construction methods, and telecom products.
Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the effective operation of the department
Requirements
Must be available to travel to Conway, AR office for up to 3 weeks of company-paid training
Technical training in CADD or equivalent work experience
2 years of recent experience utilizing AutoCAD to create fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) designs
Ability to assign fiber counts
Ability to read and extract ROW maps
Exhibit effective communication skills
Experience utilizing client-specific systems and/or other design software is a plus
