Square One is a private nonprofit organization in Springfield, Mass.
Our programs include early education and care, and out of school time care for elementary school age children.
Our parent education, support and training programs are offered through groups, home visitation and personalized case management to help parents access whatever services are needed to be successful in their role as their child’s first teacher.
We are currently looking for a Director of Supportive Services to join our team!
The Director of Supportive Services is responsible for supporting the EEC Support Services case management staff in working with Department of Early Education and Care (EEC), Department of Children and Families (DCF), Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities (EOHLC), Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA) and other local partners. The Director is responsible for the oversight and management of the case management team, ensuring all families are treated with dignity and respect and is the liaison for each of the DCF area offices.
QUALIFICATIONS
- LISCW with two years-experience working with children and families OR,
- Bachelor’s degree and five years-experience working with children and families,
- One-year experience supervising others;
- Ability to communicate professionally with families, various professionals and state agencies;
- Ability to implement all program requirements in adherence to EEC and Square One standards;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Knowledge of EEC enrollment process;
- Strong customer service skills,
- Experience working with Priority Populations;
- Must be able to pass a background check that meets compliance standards.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY TASKS
Enrollment
- Maintain and oversee all files for families enrolling in supportive EEC programs associated with Square One Early Education and Care;
- Provide programming information to DCF, DTA, EOHLC in need of services;
- Ensure all Square One and EEC requirements are met prior to child enrolling;
- Coordinate supportive contract children’s enrollment with the Director of Enrollment;
- Triage referrals to case management team;
- Complete enrollment process, if needed;
- Hold regular meetings with on-site, clinical staff to ensure all children and families are receiving required services;
- Maintain all spreadsheets to coordinate and capture enrollment data and slot utilization;
- Develop written reports, as needed, for data and reporting purposes;
- Represent Square One at outreach events (some night/weekends may be required).
Supervision / Administration
- Remain current with all EEC policy/procedure changes;
- Maintain written internal controls, policies and procedures outlining staff responsibilities, program operations and orientation;
- Ensure all staff maintain confidentiality of families and programs;
- Provide families with all relevant EEC policies/procedures and program information, whether FFC system or center-based;
- Train staff on all related policies/procedures;
- Hold regular team meetings to ensure work flow and compliance;
- Maintain all reauthorization end dates to ensure timely reauthorizations;
- Work, in partnership, with DCF coordinators to manage referrals;
- Work, in partnership, with Director of Enrollment to ensure appropriate placements for children with DCF, DTA, EOHLC referrals,
- Work, in partnership, with the Director of transportation on all transportation issues related to enrollment;
- Work collaboratively with Square One center directors to maintain accurate placements and enrollment data;
- Coordinate enrollments/terminations to ensure accurate data and effective slot utilization.
