Home Visitor Family Child Care

Square One is a private nonprofit organization in Springfield, Mass. Our programs include early education and care, and out of school time care for elementary school age children.

Our parent education, support and training programs are offered through groups, home visitation and personalized case management to help parents access whatever services are needed to be successful in their role as their child’s first teacher.

We are currently looking for a Home Visitor to conduct visits at our Family Child Care Home Providers.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• High School diploma; Associates degree preferred
• Obtain and maintain First aid / CPR certification
• One-year successful experience in customer service
• One (1) year experience as an FCC provider preferred or two (2) years-experience as lead teacher in an early education learning program
• Working knowledge of EEC Regulations
• Computer literate in Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
• Ability to multi-task, strong attention to detail and able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge and sensitivity to children who experience homelessness, trauma, social-economic diversity and their caregivers.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and a professional demeanor when interacting with internal and external staff and caregivers.
• Knowledge of ProCare, CACFP and CCFA preferred
• Ability and willingness to work as part of a team with internal and external staff and caregivers
• Reliable transportation to travel to provider’s homes
• Bilingual; English/Spanish preferred
• Flexible hours required

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

• Conduct EEC compliance home visits in Family Child Care provider’s homes
• Conduct CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Program) monitoring home visits in Family Child Care provider’s homes
• Data entry for invoicing and attendance
• Complete all reports required as part of EEC compliance and CACFP and monitoring visits
• Assist in maintaining all forms, certificates and licenses as required in CACFP
• Meet with new providers to complete CACFP paperwork, conduct CACFP initial training
• Ensure providers compliance with all EEC regulations
• Ensure provider’s compliance with CACFP regulations, including menu preparation and food safety
• Work closely with Nutrition Coordinator and Finance department in reporting CACFP non-compliance
• Provide technical assistance to providers as necessary.
• Attend and assist in all Family Child Care professional development opportunities
• Uses community and program resources to support providers
• Maintain a sound, positive working relationship with providers and Square One staff
• Communicate to the Director of Family Child Care, or other designated individual, pertinent information with regard to families and children.
• Other duties as assigned
