Teacher Position – Square Pegs Learning Center

At Square Pegs Learning Center, we are dedicated to providing a supportive and individualized learning environment for children with Autism and other disabilities. We are seeking a compassionate and innovative Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will foster both academic and personal growth while receiving extensive training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services. This role requires a creative approach to curriculum development, a deep understanding of individualized learning strategies, and the ability to engage and inspire students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Development: Design and implement engaging unit plans that align with educational standards and cater to the diverse needs of our students. Plans must incorporate real-life applications and practical learning approaches.
  • Student-Centered Learning: Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation, collaboration, and individual achievement.
  • Assessment & Feedback: Regularly evaluate student progress, provide and accept constructive feedback, and adjust teaching methods to meet individualized learning objectives.
  • Early Intervention: Collaborate with Behavior Analysts and team members to support early intervention strategies for students requiring additional assistance.
  • Multi-Sensory Integration: Utilize multi-sensory teaching strategies to enhance learning by engaging students through visual, auditory, tactile, and kinesthetic approaches.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with parents, behavior therapists, and the administrative team to enhance the educational experience and address the unique needs of each student.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a safe, structured, and organized classroom environment that supports learning and incorporates ABA practices.
  • Professional Development: Participate in extensive ABA training provided by the center. Willingness to become RBT-certified within the first 90 days of employment is required.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field; certification in Early Childhood Education preferred.
  • Proven experience in curriculum development, with a focus on Math, Literacy, and Physical Education.
  • Comprehensive understanding of childhood development and individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Experience teaching or working with children with Autism and other disabilities in educational or therapeutic settings.
  • Familiarity with ABA principles and Multi-Sensory Integration strategies (preferred but not required).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with parents, staff, and administrators.
  • A commitment to providing and accepting constructive feedback to improve practices and outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to support their learning journey.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding student performance and any concerns related to child welfare.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum development and instructional strategies.
  • Provide support for special education needs, ensuring an inclusive classroom environment for all students.
  • Utilize early intervention strategies to assist students who may require additional support.
  • Foster a nurturing classroom atmosphere that encourages social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
