As a Staff Android engineer on the Food & Beverage team, you’ll work closely with other engineers and cross-functional partners to ensure our applications are maintainable, and capable of meeting the diverse needs of our merchants. You’ll play a pivotal role in enhancing the performance and reliability of our Android solutions, directly impacting millions of users worldwide.
You Will
- Architect and improve the Square Kitchen Display System codebase to support diverse merchant workflows within a single product
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers across teams to deliver high-quality, scalable features
- Champion best practices in Android development, ensuring code quality, performance, and maintainability
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to engineers, fostering a culture of learning and innovation
- Identify and drive improvements in our Android development processes and tools, contributing to the technical roadmap
- Move between the Solver and Architect archetypes, spending the majority of your time actively in or around code (be that Kotlin, Java, SQL, LookML, etc.)
