About SquashBridge
SquashBridge, a unique athletic, educational, and community center in Bridgeport, will offer an intensive Squash and Education Alliance (SEA) youth development program and serve as a public squash club. The center will provide academic tutoring, squash instruction, mentorship, college preparation, and career development for all ages and backgrounds, with a focus on removing barriers and fostering national competitiveness in squash. As a regional SEA hub, SquashBridge will also host various SEA events.
About the Position
SquashBridge is hiring a Director of Operations and Finance to manage building operations, finances, and Human Resources of the organization. The Director will oversee a public squash facility and collaborate with other SEA programs. This role requires nonprofit financial and operational expertise. The Director will report to the Executive Director and play a key role in achieving programmatic goals and maintaining a positive work environment.
Responsibilities:
Operations, Compliance & Risk Management:
- Work with ED to oversee insurance portfolio including D&O, E&O, property, liability, and cyber; also participate in the negotiations of significant organizational contracts
- Ensure that SquashBridge complies with all local, state, and federal government requirements to strengthen and scale SquashBridge's operational infrastructure.
- Oversee internal IT and computer systems, using in-house support or a vendor.
- Build and maintain a network-wide student database using Salesforce CRM to share data with SEA.
Financial Operations & Strategy
- Oversee and manage relationship with outsourced bookkeeping firm to ensure accurate and timely accounts payable and monthly close processes
- Work with outsourced bookkeeping firm to build, analyze, and present meaningful financial reports; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results to senior leadership
- Assist with annual budget planning cycle and forecasting to support multi-year operational plans
- Direct and execute cash management and investment policies to responsibly steward resources
- Serve as the primary point-person and liaison for SquashBridge’s financial partners.
- Participate and provide input for strategic plan for the organization.
Human Resources & Administrative Operations
- Organize, implement, and strengthen HR processes, including using and updating when necessary the employee handbook that aides in on-boarding, off-boarding, employee relations, and benefits
- Oversee and manage the timely and accurate execution of payroll, and benefits
- Create and implement effective people processes to hire seasonal/program-specific part-time contractors and hourly staff annually.
- Participate in supporting SquashBridge's plan for including developing a roadmap with clear goals, benchmarks, and action plans
- Collaborate with leadership to proactively resolve all employee relations issues, including mediating and investigating complaints, grievances, and other human resources-related matters

Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, ideally significant coursework in accounting, finance, or business
- Demonstrated strong financial planning and analysis skills, knowledge of GAAP, nonprofit accounting standards, and revenue recognition standards
- 6 years of demonstrated progressive management-level experience in financial or operations management, ideally in nonprofit, education, sport, or philanthropy
- Demonstrated experience working on a high-performing team
- Experience working with a cloud-based suite of finance, accounting, and human resources systems, including Quickbooks, ADP, Stripe and Salesforce
- Familiarity with squash and the SEA network is not required, but a plus.
Hours: Position requires a full work week, primarily at the facility. Candidates should be prepared for occasional work outside of traditional hours. This candidate should also expect to attend certain events (fundraisers, eg)
Compensation: $75,000 - $100,000. Benefits include 20 days Paid time off (PTO) which includes sick, personal days, health insurance, and certain other benefits.
