Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and operationally-minded leader to join our executive team and oversee all aspects of operations across our Portland-based headquarters. This role is not for the sideline strategist—it’s for someone ready to get in the weeds, solve problems on the ground, and implement systems that scale.
The ideal candidate is a proven operator with experience managing production and fulfillment, coordinating with sales and marketing, leading teams, and driving results in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment—ideally in the cannabis, beverage, food, or CPG industries.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Facility Management
- Oversee daily operations of our Portland production and fulfillment facility
- Manage procurement, inventory, scheduling, quality control, and compliance
- Ensure facility readiness, staffing, safety protocols, and product throughput
- Maintain and improve SOPs for production, packaging, and distribution
- Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks, equipment needs, or vendor issues
Team Leadership & Culture
- Hire, train, and manage internal operations staff (production, logistics, warehouse)
- Supervise cross-functional collaboration with sales and marketing teams
- Establish KPIs, drive accountability, and support a culture of excellence
- Facilitate communication and alignment between departments
- Serve as a hands-on leader, motivating the team by example
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with the Founder/CEO and leadership to align operations with business strategy
- Support the marketing team with production timelines and product launches
- Collaborate with the sales team to forecast production volumes, delivery timelines, and wholesale needs
- Participate in investor, vendor, and regulatory meetings as needed
Growth & Scalability
- Help build and scale systems that support multi-state distribution and expansion
- Support budgeting, cost analysis, and margin improvement efforts
- Assist in evaluating and onboarding new tech, vendors, and 3PL partners
- Recommend operational upgrades to improve efficiency and output
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of experience in an operations, plant, or general management role—ideally in food & beverage, CPG, cannabis, or related manufacturing fields
- Demonstrated success in managing production or manufacturing teams
- Experience implementing and optimizing SOPs, safety protocols, and quality assurance systems
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Deep knowledge of inventory control, scheduling, logistics, and regulatory compliance
- Track record of scaling operations in a startup or fast-growth environment
- Proficiency with tools like Airtable, Asana, QuickBooks, Shopify, or equivalent ops stack
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with a hands-on, sleeves-rolled-up mentality
