About the role:
We are looking for someone with advanced knowledge of SQL, who can create reports and use their knowledge of accounting principles to analyze data to join our fast-growing firm! If you're dedicated and ambitious, Squire & Company PC is an excellent place to develop your career.
Responsibilities:
- Write queries, views, and stored procedures to extract the data from SQL Server
- Create/develop data models, analysis, and visualization for Power BI
- Build and manage data sets and sources for Power BI
- Build end user tools to interact with firm data
- Design and develop business intelligence reports and dashboards for use by partners and staff of the firm
- Review and analyze reports for accuracy prior to distribution
- Clarify or research issues as necessary
- Build financial reports for business analysis and KPIs
- Assist in compiling and organizing data for use in forecasts and budgets
- Identify and research variances in trends and bring them to the attention of the supervisor for discussion and resolution
- Identify potential issues in data to develop a solution and interact with appropriate staff to achieve a resolution
- Assist with special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, business, or a related field preferred, or 2 years’ experience on the job
- Advanced working knowledge of SQL is required

Intermediate knowledge of accounting and finance principles
- A/R Aging Reports
- Basic GL knowledge
- Debit/Credit Memos
- Ability to develop data models, analysis, and visualization for Power BI
- Knowledge of Power BI Gateways
- Analytical skills to identify patterns and trends in data
- Ability to check for consistency and accuracy of data
- Finds satisfaction in analytical review
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and VBA
- Critical thinking skills
- Judgment and decision-making skills
- Time management
- Experience in CCH Axcess a plus
- General knowledge of financial software a plus, such a QuickBooks or NetSuite
Job Status: Full Time Salary
Work Location: Orem or Salt Lake City
Work Arrangements: Hybrid for local candidates (3 days in office) or Remote for non-local candidates
