Job Description : The Network Engineer will support the Edge Networking team within the Bureau of Infrastructure and Operations under the Pennsylvania Office of Administration (OA). This role involves designing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex edge network infrastructure across LAN / WAN environments.
Responsibilities :
Install, configure, and manage network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls, SD-WAN appliances, etc.).
Monitor and troubleshoot network issues using tools and resolve complex problems.
Assist in network planning, design, and upgrades, including capacity planning and schematic engineering.
Collaborate on ServiceNow ticket resolution and document network incidents.
Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations for network improvements.
Maintain network security and ensure compliance with OA standards.
Create and maintain Visio diagrams for documenting network configurations.
Support remote IT staff and agency operations with network-related issues.
Required Skills :
Network Switching : 4 years
Network Routing : 3 years
Hands-on experience with Cisco CCNA (2 years)
Familiarity with SD-WAN and CCNP certifications (preferred).
Additional Information :
Candidates must reside within the Greater Harrisburg / Mechanicsburg area.
Occasional on-site work, travel, and overnight stays may be required.
Must pass an in-depth background check, including fingerprinting.
