Position Overview
SR1 Companies is seeking a Trailer Service Writer to join our team. In this critical role, you will manage the service order process for trailer repairs, ensuring smooth communication between customers, service technicians, and other departments. Key Responsibilities
Service Order Creation & Management
· Create and maintain detailed service orders for trailer repairs, ensuring all customer concerns, issues, and repair requirements are documented accurately.
· Organize and update service orders with necessary details, such as parts, labor, costs, and trailer specifications.
· Make necessary revisions to service orders as the repair scope, parts, or timelines change, ensuring all parties are informed.
Communication & Coordination
· Act as the primary point of contact for customers, service technicians, and internal teams (e.g., Parts Department) throughout the repair process.
· Ensure clear and consistent communication with customers, providing status updates, addressing inquiries, and notifying them of any changes to the repair schedule or service costs.
· Work closely with technicians to ensure they have accurate, up-to-date information regarding repair tasks, parts, and special instructions.
· Foster a collaborative, team-oriented environment to ensure timely processing of service orders.
Cost Estimation & Scheduling
· Provide customers with accurate and detailed repair estimates, including labor, parts, and any additional costs.
· Collaborate with customers to schedule service appointments, ensuring that parts, labor, and resources are available when needed.
· Adjust repair timelines and schedules as needed to meet customer requirements while maintaining operational efficiency.
Customer Service & Satisfaction
· Address customer questions and concerns regarding repair status, pricing, and service timelines with professionalism and a focus on resolution.
· Handle customer complaints promptly and effectively, ensuring satisfaction at every stage of the repair process.
· Conduct follow-up calls or emails after service completion to gather feedback and confirm customer satisfaction.
General Administrative Support
· Keep detailed, organized records of service orders, customer communications, and other relevant documentation.
· Track repair progress, ensuring that tasks are completed on schedule and that all necessary steps are followed.
· Collaborate with the service management team to identify areas for improvement and streamline service processes.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience
· Prior experience in a service writer, service coordinator, or similar role, preferably in the trailer or automotive repair industry. However, candidates with transferable skills from other industries will be considered.
· Basic understanding of trailer operations and repair procedures is helpful, but not mandatory. We’re willing to train the right candidate.
Technical Skills
· Strong computer proficiency, particularly with service management software and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
· Ability to quickly learn new software tools and adapt to emerging technologies.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills
· Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical information to customers and team members.
· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple service orders simultaneously while maintaining a customer-focused approach.
Problem-Solving & Organizational Skills
· Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to solve problems and think critically, especially when addressing customer concerns or service issues.

Compensation:
· $49K - $57K Based on Experience and Product knowledge.
