Bartender/Server Day and Evening shifts Part-Time

Residence Inn Oceanfront in Myrtle Beach is hiring Bartender/Servers for our onsite restaurant and bar. Part-Time Positions available 3:30pm-11:30pm.  Come join us at one of the newest hotels on the beach at the Residence Inn Marriott Myrtle Beach Oceanfront. Driftwood Bar & Grill is open daily from 4-11pm and weekends from 11am-11pm..

PRIMARY PURPOSE:  The bartender/server provides guests with a quality dining experience by greeting guests warmly, telling them about daily specials, and interacting with them in a friendly manner. The bartender/server services guests with all food and beverage requirements in a pleasant, courteous, and professional manner. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

· Provides personalized service to all guests 

· Takes drink & food orders from customers  

· Responsible for knowing prices of menu items 

· Performs wait and service standards in a timely manner 

· Serves drinks such as  mixed drinks, wine and beer 

· Mixes drinks and cocktails according to recipes  

· Checks identification of customers to ensure that they are of legal drinking age  

· Cleans bars, tables, and work areas  

· Operates cash registers, collect payments from customers, and return change  

REQUIREMENTS 

· A minimum of 1 year of experience working as a bartender, preferred but must have a general knowledge of basic drink recipes.

· High school diploma or equivalent is preferred 

· Alcohol Awareness Certification, preferred 

· Ability to get to work on time as scheduled  

· Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform when working (according to brand standards) 

· Must be able to multi- task and prioritize tasks when needed 

· Possess basic math, reading, and writing skills 

JOB SETTING AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

Employees in this position work primarily indoors. Employees work in a customer- facing environment, and must be able to provide excellent customer service at all times. Fluency in the English language and the ability to speak, hear, read and write are required as is the ability to work any hours/days of the week necessary to meet business requirements. Employees must be able to walk, stand, go up and down stairs, bend, and sometimes lift
up to 50 pounds.
