What are the responsibilities and job description for the COOK Morning & Evening shifts, open 7 days/week position at Sree Hotels?
The Residence Inn Myrtle Beach Oceanfront / Driftwood Bar & Grill is looking for a dependable, honest line cooks. Shifts are variable between 5:30am and 11:00pm. This is a Full-time position with guaranteed year round employment.
**PAY BY DAY - Eligible to receive 50% of earned wages after each shift.
PRIMARY PURPOSE: To contribute to customer satisfaction by preparing and serving high quality food products in accordance with the standards of the hotel
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepares all “hot” items for restaurant in the prescribed manner and presents food in an attractive and appealing manner.
• Ensures food in warmers maintains required temperatures
• Prepares appropriate amount of food in accordance with hotel occupancy
• Maintains amount and quality of food.
• Prepares and properly garnishes all food orders as they are received in accordance with menu specifications, ensuring proper plate presentation
• Checks all coolers and storage areas for cleanliness, quantity, and quality of food products
• Requisitions food with necessary approvals according to policy
• Takes proper care of ranges, ovens, broilers, fryers, griddles, utensils and other equipment
• Contributes to customer satisfaction by attending to restaurant customer needs
• Informs host/hostess or manager of any customer dissatisfaction
• Ensures that restaurant is in proper condition for arrival of customers
• Verifies workstations are stocked, neat and orderly
• Checks the overall condition of the dining room, insuring its readiness for customers
REQUIREMENTS
• Proven experience as cook
• Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
• A team player with good communication skills
• Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure
• High school diploma or equivalent is desirable; Training from a culinary school will be an asset
JOB SETTING AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Employees in this position work primarily indoors. To perform the job successfully the candidate must possess manual dexterity, must be able to stand for long periods of time, have the ability to lift up to 30 pounds, bend, stretch, twist, or reach out, and operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils. Fluency in the English language and the ability to speak, hear, read and write are required as is the ability to work any hours/days of the week necessary to meet business requirements.
