SRG Global is looking for an Environmental, Health, and Safety Specialist to join our team in Newbern, TN!
In this role, you will utilize your environmental, health and safety knowledge to assist in building sustainable systems. Ideally, you will bring a strong environmental background, coupled with EHS manufacturing experience. This position balances the time between safety and environmental work.
What You Will Do
- Partner with the Operations team to develop solutions, methods, and processes to reduce the overall risk profile of the facility
- Ensure compliance with all issued permits, with a heavy focus on air permit requirements
- Maintain required records for all environmental media
- Conduct and review safety audits, hazard assessments and hazardous waste inspections
- Drive the follow-up and closure of EH&S action plans from activities such as audits and regional priorities
- Guide and participate in company safety team meetings, activities, and inspections
- Act as a liaison to all team members to help with employee issues or concerns
- Assist with managing site risks including facilitating risk assessments, job safety analyses, and PPE assessments
- Help in developing well-documented employee environmental, health, and safety training programs
- Aid incident investigations, root cause analysis, and determining corrective actions to prevent incident recurrence
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- EHS experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment
What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Safety, Environmental, Industrial Hygiene, or related field
- Certifications such as Global Safety Professional, Associate Safety Professional, or Certified Safety Professional
- Experience leading and developing EHS initiatives and programs
- Experience working with an ISO 14001 Certified company
