What are the responsibilities and job description for the CSL Intern position at SRI International?
Overview
SRI’s Computer Science Laboratory develops leading-edge tools and methods for areas including computer security, high-assurance systems, advanced user interfaces, computer networking, robotics, biotechnology, and nanotechnology. We study the logical foundations of scalable systems beyond the scope of traditional testing or simulation, and we create and apply high-level tools for rigorous mechanical analysis.
CSL is seeking a student to work with the team this coming summer. The student will work on theoretical foundations of deep learning with focus on foundation model and developing theoretical frameworks and conduct empirical analysis on understanding abstraction, generalization, and mechanistic interpretability of foundation models. The student will contribute to research paper(s) documenting the output of conducted research.
The student will be able to work remotely.
Responsibilities
- Developing new theoretical frameworks, conducting empirical validation of hypothesis
- Contributing to research paper writing, and presentations on research being conducted
Qualifications
- Pursuing a B.S. in Computer Science
- Experience in deep learning a plus
The salary range is: $25-$30/hr. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
