Senior Internal Communications Specialist

Overview

SRI International is seeking a Senior Internal Communications Specialist to help create and manage internal communications aimed at keeping our employees informed and engaged. In this role, a new position on the Corporate Marketing and Communications team, you will be primarily responsible for overseeing our rolling internal communication calendar, writing, and producing our weekly employee newsletter, managing our Intranet, supporting internal events and keeping our employees informed about organizational activities. This role is ideal for a highly creative individual and a strong writer who has demonstrated experience in internal communications and is excited about executing the best ways to inform and connect with employees. 

This role reports to the Director, Communications and Engagement and will collaborate closely with other members of our team, as well as with individuals in other functional areas throughout the organization. This role is based in our Menlo Park, CA, headquarters and offers hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

• Provide communications support by writing and editing content for internal communications, across a range of media, ensuring accuracy, quality, consistency, and adherence to the SRI brand 
• Manage internal editorial calendar content and process, including publishing materials on SRI’s Intranet
• Manage engagement activities across our office locations 
• Own the content and delivery for our weekly newsletter to keep employees informed on the most important updates across SRI
• Post and update content and events to the Intranet and website, as needed
• Manage projects from ideation to execution, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality communication deliverables
• Build collaborative internal partnerships across SRI locations and remotely to create engagement experiences for employees
• Ensure all communication aligns with organizational goals and our brand
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and impact of internal communications
• Copyedit and proofread materials to ensure they are error-free, consistent across channels, and aligned with our brand

Qualifications

• 4-8 years of internal communications experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, including writing, editing, and developing content for a variety of audiences
• U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency are required
• Skilled in developing and executing engaging communication strategies
• Willingness to learn new tools as needed 
• Demonstrated collaboration skills, with a history of effective teamwork
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, driving them to completion, and adapting to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• A Bachelors' degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related communications discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
• A demonstrated commitment to content accuracy and correct grammar and punctuation

The salary range is: $99,740-$113,680. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
