We are seeking a Managing Editor to help us tell our extraordinary story to the world. In this role, a new position on the Corporate Marketing and Communications team, you will be primarily responsible for creating, producing, and publishing world-class stories and content that showcases our work across a range of areas, including AI, sustainability, space, the future of education and work, security, health, and quantum.
This position reports directly to the Vice President of Communications and will collaborate closely with our public relations, executive and internal communications, marketing, social media, and business development colleagues to create stories and content that will elevate SRI's profile and brand and resonate and engage with our target audiences. In this role, you will be responsible for the direct creation of stories and content, as well as for identifying and adding to our roster of creative contractors, including writers, video producers, and designers, to produce content.
This role is based in our Menlo Park, CA, headquarters and is a hybrid position.
Responsibilities :
- Produce stories and content for external and internal communications, across a range of media, ensuring accuracy, quality, consistency, and adherence to the SRI brand
- Identify and write and / or edit stories that will be of interest to our audience in support of our internal and external goals
Manage communications vendors and contractors (eg., designers, writers, video producers, photographers, web producers) to produce stories, collateral, and communications materials at the highest standard of quality
Serve as a final review for PR, marketing, executive and internal communications to ensure that content meets our standards
Work closely with legal, export control, contracts, IP, and security offices to ensure materials produced meet all compliance and legal standards
Qualifications :
The salary range for this position is : $162,680 - $185,420. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
