Role Description:
SRI Telecom is seeking a Materials Manager to support the Google Fiber initiative, working across vendor warehouses, job sites, and remote locations. The ideal candidate will bring strong logistics, inventory control, and material management experience, supporting field teams and projects such as OSP and MXU deployments. This role requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage coordination across multiple teams and supply chain partners.
Key Tasks:
- Manage materials for OSP and MXU projects stored at vendor warehouse facilities.
- Coordinate material transfers between vendors, contractors, and Google Fiber teams (SXU, Maintenance, Operations).
- Support Google Fiber Supply Chain with materials usage, ordering, and delivery logistics.
- Track and confirm shipments for project orders, ensuring on-time delivery and quality compliance.
- Perform material audits and inspections, verifying item specifications, GPN/Part numbers, and condition.
- Process and report on damaged, missing, or stolen materials.
- Coordinate returns to suppliers (Anixter, Oldcastle, Duraline, GXO) for incorrect, damaged, or over-shipped items.
- Maintain accurate inventory control and provide reports to internal stakeholders.
- Prepare and organize material orders for OSP, Last Mile, and MXU project deployments.
- Support warehouse operations: receiving, shipping, labeling, putaway, and documentation (packing slips, BOLs).
- Liaise with suppliers to track and resolve delivery or material issues.
- Transport materials between warehouse facilities and job sites as needed.
- Perform other duties and assignments as required.
Skills & Responsibilities:
- Strong experience in logistics, inventory, and material coordination.
- Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and shipment tracking tools.
- Detail-oriented with excellent documentation and organizational skills.
- Effective communicator with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
- Ability to work independently in both remote and field-based environments.
- Experience supporting fast-paced project teams.
- Self-starter with strong problem-solving and time management capabilities.
- Ability to learn and navigate proprietary systems and workflows.
- OSP project or telecom experience is a plus, but not required.
