This position pays an average of $56.88/hour, depending on experience.
Description of Role:
SRI Telecom is actively seeking a Site Acceptance Testing Engineer to join our team. This role is critical to ensuring the performance and readiness of newly deployed gNB sites. You will perform on-site testing and validation procedures, closely coordinating with Commissioning & Integration Engineers and network support personnel to verify that all functionality and signal quality metrics meet required thresholds before site activation.
Responsibilities:
- Access the Unified System Manager (USM) during the shakedown process and coordinate with the Commissioning & Integration Engineer for support when needed.
- Perform functionality testing on each sector of the gNB under evaluation, ensuring all required test cases pass.
- Work in direct contact with Comcast C&I Engineers or USM support personnel (BNOC) to troubleshoot and resolve any test failures.
- Validate each sector's PCI, Azimuth, and Location details using the Readiness Checklist provided by the C&I Engineer.
- Confirm that each site is unlocked and in operator use mode prior to testing.
- Execute test procedures, including:
- Enabling eSIM on test phones and placing them in debug mode.
- Verifying PCI, SiNR, RSRQ, and RSRP values align with USM data.
- Testing features such as Carrier Aggregation, PAL, and GAA, while recording all results.
- Locking passing sites in the USM; resetting and rerunning tests for failing sites as needed.
- Transition to subsequent sites and repeat the acceptance testing process.
- Submit comprehensive test results to the C&I Engineer upon completing all assigned sites.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills:
- 3-5 years of experience in wireless telecommunications, network testing, or field engineering.
- Familiarity with CBRS, gNB architecture, and related RF metrics.
- Hands-on experience with USM and network performance validation tools.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot wireless signal issues in real-time.
- Strong communication and coordination skills for working with remote technical teams.
- Experience with debug/test modes, eSIM-enabled devices, and mobile signal analytics.
- Understanding of PCI, RSRP, RSRQ, and signal-to-noise metrics.
- Willingness to travel to different cell sites as required.
- Experience with Carrier Aggregation and spectrum testing is a plus.
