What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research Engineer / Scientist position at SRI?
SRI’s Ocean Modeling Lab develops innovative solutions for environmental characterization in the ocean, nearshore, and riverine domains. Our work provides information for mission planning in complex ocean environments and enhanced understanding of environmental effects on maritime operations.
Lab Capabilities Include
Responsibilities
Areas of focus will include ocean modeling and data assimilation for ocean circulation, winds, and waves. Additional research areas include computational analysis of engineering hydrodynamic flows.
Responsibilities Will Include
SRI is an independent nonprofit research institute headquartered in Menlo Park, Calif., with a rich history of supporting government and industry. We create and deliver world-changing solutions for a safer, healthier, and more sustainable future. For more than 75 years, we have collaborated across technical and scientific disciplines to discover and develop groundbreaking products and technologies and bring innovations and ideas to the marketplace.
Lab Capabilities Include
- High-resolution ocean and atmospheric modeling and wave prediction
- Data assimilation and related sensor modeling for ocean tides, circulation, winds, and waves
- River characterization and bathymetry estimation from remote sensing data
- Computational fluid dynamics and multi-body dynamics for novel marine vehicles
- Algorithm development for extreme compression of environmental data
- User interface development for modeling and assimilation systems
Responsibilities
