Brief Overview:
We are seeking a Powerhouse Maintenance Technician to operate and maintain complicated machinery and electrical components at our Syracuse, NY location.
Description:
As a Powerhouse Maintenance Technician, you will install, maintain, and repair steam boilers, air compressors, complicated electrical equipment, automatic boiler controls, pumps, motors, power generating equipment, and pressurized piping systems. You will also perform chemical tests to maintain boilers and associated equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and perform operations to install, maintain, and repair steam boilers, air compressors, complicated electrical equipment, automatic boiler controls, pumps, motors, power generating equipment, and pressurized piping systems.
- Perform chemical tests to properly maintain boilers and associated equipment.
- Tear down complicated units, determine extent of troubles, repair or replace defective parts or wiring, and reassemble.
- Use hand tools and pipe fitting machinery to bend, thread, and cut pipe. Use a torch to sweat copper joints and solder.
- Install and maintain high-pressure steam stations, including steam lines, traps, strainers, regulators, valves, and insulation.
- Troubleshoot powerhouse equipment to isolate problems and repair analog and digital control systems.
- Identify common symbols on mechanical drawings and follow electrical and plumbing diagrams.
- Enter and edit time schedule data using the energy management system.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of Powerhouse Technician experience.
- Experience with reading schematics and blueprints.
- Authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship.
- Live within 50 miles of Syracuse.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Five (5) full-time years’ experiences as a Powerhouse Technician.
- Ability to problem-solve and understand mechanical equipment.
