Job Title: Full-Time Medical Assistant
Job Description: Wr are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our dedicated team. As a medical assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients and ensuring smooth operations within our healthcare facility. This is a full-time position based in Texas.
Responsibilities:
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and coordinating referrals
- Greet patients, verify their information, and assist with the check-in process
- Prepare examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness and stocking necessary supplies
- Escort patients to examination rooms and assist healthcare providers with patient examinations
- Take patient vital signs, record medical history, and update patient charts accurately
- Administer injections, medications, and vaccines as directed by healthcare providers
- Conduct basic laboratory tests and perform phlebotomy when necessary
- Provide patient education and instructions regarding medications, procedures, and follow-up care
- Assist in coordinating patient referrals, including scheduling appointments with specialists and obtaining medical records
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following infection control protocols and standards
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient care and promote a positive patient experience
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited medical assistant program preferred
- Proven experience as a medical assistant in a primary care or pediatric setting
- Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and basic laboratory techniques
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and computer skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate and friendly demeanor
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- CPR certification and other relevant certifications are a plus
