Key Responsibilities
Software Architecture Development:
Design and develop application architectures for student systems, ensuring alignment with institutional goals.
Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and methodologies for delivering high-quality solutions.
Collaboration and Leadership:
Partner with business analysts, developers, and educators to ensure technical solutions meet business needs.
Mentor development teams, conduct code reviews, and enforce architectural standards.
Innovation and Scalability:
Create solutions that enhance student experiences and streamline administrative processes.
Lead software development efforts to drive technological innovation.
Data Management and Compliance:
Ensure application architectures comply with FERPA, GDPR, HIPAA, and other data privacy and security regulations.
Oversee integration of new systems with existing infrastructure, including SIS and LMS.
Documentation and Optimization:
Maintain architectural documentation, including system diagrams and design specifications.
Monitor and optimize system performance to improve reliability and scalability.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Technical Expertise:
7 years of experience in application design, development, and architecture, preferably in education or enterprise environments.
Proficiency in cloud-based architectures (e.g., AWS, Azure) and enterprise-level solutions.
Knowledge of software development tools and technologies, including Java, Python, APIs, and containerization platforms like Docker or Kubernetes.
Project Management:
Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and other methodologies to manage timelines and deliverables effectively.
Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams to deliver projects within deadlines and budgets.
Problem-Solving Skills:
Experience in troubleshooting complex technical issues, ensuring system continuity and performance.
Strong analytical skills, particularly in system integrations and data migrations.
Education and Data Governance:
Understanding of data governance principles and ensuring the integrity and accuracy of student data.
Familiarity with SIS, LMS, and other educational technologies.
