Job Title: Application Data Engineer Student Systems
Location: State University of New York (SUNY) Various Campuses
Duration: 2 years, with an option for a 1-year extension
Key Responsibilities
Data Integration & Pipeline Development
- Design and develop scalable data pipelines to process and analyze large datasets.
- Implement and manage ETL processes and integration frameworks.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data flows for reliability, quality, and integrity.
- Document data models and integration processes.
Collaboration & Strategy
- Work closely with application developers, data scientists, and business analysts to align data integration efforts with SIS, LMS, and related platforms.
- Partner with the PMO to identify improvements and maintain compliance with methodologies and tools.
Innovation & Compliance
- Stay updated on emerging data technologies and best practices.
- Ensure data security and regulatory compliance (e.g., FERPA, HIPAA, GDPR).
- Develop innovative solutions to enhance the student experience and streamline administrative operations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in application development, data system design, or a similar technical role.
- Proven ability to provide strategic advice to senior management and enhance business processes for greater efficiency.
- Experience in the education, government, or corporate sectors preferred.
- Expertise in developing and managing data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Familiarity with confidentiality, data security, and compliance standards.
