Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with IMS DB expertise to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mainframe development, database management, and system optimization. The role requires a strong understanding of IMS DB, COBOL, JCL, and related technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications utilizing IMS DB.
- Develop and optimize COBOL programs for performance and reliability.
- Create and maintain JCL (Job Control Language) scripts to support batch processing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to IMS DB and mainframe applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance application functionality and performance.
- Ensure compliance with security and data integrity standards.
- Conduct code reviews, testing, and debugging to maintain high-quality deliverables.
- Provide support for production environments, including incident resolution and performance tuning.
- Document technical specifications, design solutions, and maintenance processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 9 years of experience in Mainframe development with expertise in IMS DB.
- Strong proficiency in COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, CICS.
- Experience with REXX, CLIST, and TSO/ISPF is a plus.
- Hands-on experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting IMS DB.
- Ability to work with PL/I, Assembler, and other mainframe technologies (preferred).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Experience in working with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in modernization of legacy mainframe applications.
- Knowledge of MQ Series, WebSphere, and integration with distributed systems.
- Experience with DevOps for Mainframe (Jenkins, Git, etc.).
- Knowledge of financial or healthcare industry applications is a plus.
