What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chemical Room Set-Up Associate position at SRK Tennessee?
Summary
Assists in the implementation and monitoring of programs for emergency response and for the safe handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals in accordance with all government regulations.
Job Duties Include But Not Limited To:
· Participates in the development of programs for the safe handling, storage, transport and disposal of all regulated and nonregulated chemicals, biohazardous materials.
· Ensures the implementation of these programs and performs his/her duties according to regulations and guidelines of EPA, OSHA and other State and Federal Regulatory Agencies.
· Monitors compliance through inspections, both scheduled and nonscheduled, spot checks of operations, and study and maintenance of on-site records required for permits.
· Regularly participates in response action following any spill or release of hazardous materials.
· Stay current with any changes in regulations so that protocols can be modified as necessary to ensure continuous compliance.
· Adherence to SRK Tennessee, Inc.’s Environmental Management System and any duties it may require.
· Involves working with hazardous waste and exposure to biohazardous materials.
REQUIREMENTS
· Position requires a High School Diploma, GED Diploma or equivalent - training and or experience.
· Must wear personal protective equipment and respirator while performing certain tasks. (Will be subject to required medical evaluation.)
· Work requires lifting, carrying and moving heavy objects and drums.
· Ability to work with hazardous chemicals, including experience with handling and disposing of hazardous materials, knowledge of lab safety procedures, and thorough familiarity with government and facility safety regulations.
· Successful completion of courses such as those offered by the U.S. National Fire Academy or their equivalent as a Hazardous Materials Specialist and an Emergency Responder as well as DOT training for shipment of hazardous materials.
Courses in Hazardous Materials Disposal by the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management are desirable but not required.

Pay: $21.15 - $22.20 per hour
