Dental Assistant
Location: Oak Harbor, Washington
Job Type: Full Time
Shift: Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 4:30 pm, 8-hour shift. No Weekend or Holidays
Summary: We seek a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental team at a hospital clinic. The ideal candidate will support the dentists during various dental procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience. The role involves preparing patients for treatment, assisting with dental procedures, maintaining patient records, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the dental clinic.
Responsibilities: Included but not limited to
Prepare patients for treatment by explaining procedures and providing post-operative instructions as directed by the dentist.
Sterilize instruments, materials, and equipment, and prepare surgical trays for dental procedures.
Maintain dental equipment in a clean and operable condition to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
Set up all necessary instruments and equipment required for various dental procedures.
Assist with prosthetic preparations, including taking dental impressions.
Pour and trim models from impressions and construct custom impression trays as needed.
Perform and develop high-quality intra-oral x-rays according to dental protocols.
Obtain and record patients' relevant medical history, chart examination and treatment information, and document prescription details accurately.
Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA)
- Must have Dental Assistant Radiographic certification
- At least two years of experience as a Dental Assistant
- American Heart Association BLS
- Ability to pass a background check
- U.S. citizen
