Nurse Practitioner
Job Type : Part Time 30 hours a week
Location : Bureau of Prisons, San Diego, California
Schedule Range : Monday-Friday (7 : 30AM - 2PM)
Job Summary : We are looking for a Nurse Practitioner to join our team who will provide holistic and quality care to our patients. A Nurse Practitioner's responsibilities include helping with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments, and consultations. They know there is no single solution when it comes to patient care. Responsibilities : Included but not limited to
Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services for the inmate population
- Conduct medical histories, examine inmates, and order and interpret laboratory tests, x-ray, and other diagnostic testing
- Diagnosis and treat patients in an efficient, timely, and professional manner, provide treatment plans, and prescribe medication utilizing the Bureau of Prisons formulary
- Clinically manage injuries by suturing, splinting, and immobilizing
- Attend to medical emergencies
- Record progress notes, recommend clinically necessary outside consultation, instruct and counsel, and order or carry out therapy.
- Perform emergency consultation in instances where deemed necessary.
- Work collaboratively with the staff physicians and consulting physicians in planning, instituting, evaluating, and revising program plans
- Assists in determining conditions, resources, and policies essential to the delivery of health care services
- Discriminates between normal and abnormal findings to recognize early stages of serious physical, emotional, or mental problems
- Manages the daily operation of the clinic and conducts daily sick calls, which may include securing health histories from the patient, recording findings, and providing clinical evaluations
- Provides a wide range of emergency services in the absence of the physician
- Constantly be aware of security and maintain a professional relationship with inmates at all times
