Part-Time Weekends Janitor

Location: J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge, Sanibel, Florida

Job Type: Part Time Saturday and Sunday

Schedule: Evenings 4 pm - 8 pm, Weekends with flexible hours during the week

Salary: $23.00

Janitorial Responsibilities: Included but not limited to

1. Floor Maintenance

• The janitor will sweep and wet mop all floors to ensure a clean and safe environment.

2. Restroom Cleaning

• Clean all restroom fixture surfaces, including inside and outside of:

  • Toilets

  • Urinals

  • Washbasins

  • Mirrors

  • Dispensers

  • Baby changing stations

• Wipe and clean toilets and urinals thoroughly.

3. Waste Management

• Empty and line all waste receptacles.

• Clean the interior of the receptacles as needed.

4. Surface Cleaning

• Clean and polish all counter and table surfaces, including etched rubbing tables.

5. Glass and Partition Care

• Spot clean interior windows, glass doors, and partitions to remove fingerprints, smudges, and marks.

6. General Cleaning Duties

• Remove spider webs.

• Dust all furniture and windowsills.

• Clean walls, doors, partitions, and railings regularly.

7. Restocking Supplies

• Refill paper towel dispensers, soap dispensers, and toilet paper dispensers as needed.

Requirements & Experience:

• High School Diploma
• 2 years of Experience
• Working knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
• Familiar with Material Safety Data Sheets
• Able to perform physical duties, including standing, reaching, lifting, and moving objects up to 30 pounds
• OSHA Knowledge
• Able to pass a background check
• Must have own transporation
